How does it work?
The admissions process for part-time home school students consists of the following steps:
- Parent Visit
We welcome the opportunity to meet and for you to ask questions you may have. You may call the school office, (502) 227-7121, or E-mail us to schedule an appointment
- Application
The completed part-time application and a $25.00 nonrefundable application fee must be received prior to the student visit and interview. This is a one-time fee which is only required during the first year of attendance.
- Student Visit
Students applying to grades one through eight are asked to spend the day shadowing in their prospective classes. Students in grades six through eight who plan to enroll in academic courses are required to complete a readiness or academic screening assessment as well. Capital Day School seeks highly motivated students of excellent character who are interested in maximizing their potential.
- Follow up with Parent’s Permission
We request a record of the student’s home school records to be sure that the incoming student is a good academic fit with Capital Day School.
- Orientation for Lower and Middle School Parents
When the enrollment contract is offered, we meet with parents to ensure their questions are answered, and they fully understand the school’s processes and expectations in fulfillment of its mission of academic excellence for students.
- Admissions Decisions
Enrollment is official when the signed contract and enrollment deposit are returned to the school.
