Cavalier Scholarship Overview

Capital Day School offers a variety of aid to students and their families, including need-based financial aid, multi-student discounts, and scholarships.

Cavalier Scholarships are available for qualifying new students in Kindergarten through eighth grade and may be awarded for up to 50% of the tuition. These scholarships are for tuition only and do to not apply to other fees and charges related to attending Capital Day School such as lunches, textbook fees, and field studies. Cavalier Scholarships may be renewed annually, as long as the student continues to meet the academic and behavioral expectations of the school.

Cavalier Scholarship Guidelines

Capital Day School seeks highly motivated students of excellent character who are interested in maximizing their potential. In order to apply for a Cavalier Scholarship, prospective students must adhere to the following requirements:

1. Complete the application process for applying to grades Kindergarten through eighth as a new student.
   • Parent visit
   • Submission of the admissions application and fee
   • Student visit and academic screening assessment
   • Complete transcript and two teacher recommendations
2. Meet Capital Day School’s admissions criteria
3. Submit other materials which support the applicant's candidacy (such as documentation of awards, achievements, volunteer service performed; letters of recommendation from teachers, advisors, coaches, etc.).
