Board of Trustees
Governance
The board is composed of 15 voting
members. Twelve members serve three-year terms, with one third of
the terms expiring each June. Additionally there are two one-year
terms every year, and a one-year term that is held each year by
the parent council president. The immediate past president of the
board and the head of school are ex-officio members of the board.
Terms begin July 1 and expire June
30. The Trusteeship Committee of the Board makes nominations for
the Board of Trustees and trustees are elected at the board’s
annual meeting, held in May. Officers of the Board of Trustees are
elected by and from its membership at the annual meeting. Officers
may serve consecutive terms. The President is encouraged to serve
two consecutive terms, if nominated and elected, to provide continuity.
Meetings of the Board of Trustees are
ordinarily held in the school library on the fourth Thursday of
each month at 5:00 p.m. The meetings are open, and parents are invited
to attend. If you plan to attend a board meeting, it is advisable
to phone the school office to confirm the time and date, as the
meeting schedule occasionally changes to accommodate the schedules
of the board’s members.
