Summer Program

The Capital Day Summer Program offers nine weeks filled with exciting activities directed by qualified teachers. Capital Day School students four years old through sixth grade are welcome to enroll on a weekly basis.

For Students Entering Grades 1-6

During each themed-week the students will learn about the topic, participate in a variety of hands-on activities, projects, crafts and games. Summer Camp begins June 4, 2007.

Week 1: Welcome Week

Week 2: Communities and Neighborhoods

Students will care for the gardens/grounds at school. Students will also share how we can be good citizens in our community and beyond.

Weeks 3 &4: Arts and Crafts

Students will be introduced to various artists and art techniques. Students will create "works of art" and craft projects. A local artist will visit and share his love of art with the students.

 

Week 5: Africa - Egypt

Students will get a brief overview of Africa; then a concentrated experience of Egypt.


Week 6: Cooking

Students will learn how to cook/bake a variety of foods We will be visited by a local chef who will share some helpful tips.

Week 7: Hands-On Science


A variety of hands on activities will be explored.


Week 8-9: Trip Around the World

Students will choose exciting places to "visit", learn about and share with the group all the exciting things they have learned.

Preschool Program

Students in the Preschool program will enjoy various themes each week; including hands-on-activities, projects,crafts and games.
