Admissions Process

STEP ONE: VISIT & TOUR

We welcome the opportunity to meet you and answer your questions about our program. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment with Shauna Smith, Head of School, take a tour, and receive an information packet.

STEP TWO: APPLY ONLINE

Follow the link above to apply online and pay the $75 one-time, non-refundable application fee. The application and fee must be received prior to scheduling the student visit.

STEP THREE: STUDENT VISIT

Students will visit the school and meet the teacher. A screening will be given and the student will have an informal interview. Lower and Middle School students will need 2 teacher references and a transcript of grades for the current year.

STEP FOUR: STUDENT ADMISSION

When your child is determined to be a good fit for Capital Day School, a contract is offered by the Head of School.  In the event that a contract is not offered, clear communication about the basis for the decision will be given.

You will be sent a contract online. Complete the enrollment contract along with a $175, non-refundable contract fee which secures a place for your child.  Contracts are written for one school year OR the remainder of the school year if school has started.

Some families qualify for financial aid and awards can be granted. 

Financial aid awards are determined in March for the upcoming school year.

Returning families: Use the link below to log in to your Blackbaud account. This is where you will find your re-enrollment contract. Please complete it and pay the $175 non-refundable contract fee in order to hold a spot for your child in the upcoming school year.
